What is EFT?

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques and is often referred to as "tapping".

Simply, it is a way, a process, of moving life force energy within ourselves. Technically speaking,  we use our fingertips to tap on particular acupuncture points while we focus on a specific emotional or physical pain, or limiting belief.  Doing so  stimulates and balances the flow of our subtle energy system,  aiding in the body's natural ability to heal emotionally and physically.

It does look quite odd at first.  After all, who goes around tapping on their face and other places on their torso while they mutter things about "this pain" or saying things like
"I accept myself" ???    Very strange, indeed. 
Even stranger is how remarkably effective it is.

In addition to the many thousands of case histories which have demonstrated its effectiveness and efficiency in reducing stress and other symptoms, many controlled studies and research have been conducted.  At least one of these studies proved substantially reduced amounts of adrenaline and cortisol after an EFT treatment.  Scientific research is now validating what has already been experienced by many hundreds of thousands of people, worldwide, for nearly two decades.

What I usually tell people who are new to EFT is that I could talk about it for hours but they really have to experience it in order to "get it".   Even if they still think it is strange, they will have experienced some relief, some benefit, some shift however subtle with it.  Then, they can really "go places" with it,  either using it by themselves or with the assistance of an experienced EFT practitioner.

Why EFT?

Our subtle energy pathways, or meridians, are like rivers that can get jammed with the fallen trees, branches and other debris of traumas and stresses that clog the natural flow.  When the emotional or energetic blockages are released, the energies can flow more freely, stress is released, past events are perceived differently and the body can heal more easily.

The basic premise of EFT is that:
"all negative emotions are caused by a disruption in the energy system".
Like static on a television set, it can keep us feeling negative, in pain, or stuck in our personal and professional lives.  It is believed that at least 85% of all physical illnesses and symptoms have an underlying emotional contribution.

EFT is highly effective and efficient in releasing emotional blocks or energetic disruptions, allowing greater well-being in all parts of our lives.  Removing energetic blockages allows the subtle energies to flow freely, allowing our bodies to heal more effectively.  EFT allows us to experience freedom from unwanted emotions.

What can EFT be used for?

The motto in the EFT community from the very outset has been
"Try it on Everything!"   …. and that about sums it up.

Since the early 1990's when it was developed (based on decades and centuries of scientific exploration and discoveries), EFT has been used worldwide by millions of people in all walks of life to improve- ease- eliminate issues as diverse as:

stress, chronic pain, anxiety, panic attacks, sports performance, performance anxiety in the arts, public speaking, phobias such as fear of flying, fear of heights, fear of spiders, food cravings, diabetes, other serious illnesses, post traumatic stress, emotional trauma, allergies, asthma, addictions, side effects of medications, work on pets and other animals, and the list is way too long to continue…..
